Last stop Scotland once again, this time Glasgow. We've visited many exhibitions  here in the last three days but the highlight was definitely the work of Laura Ferreira

UK Tour: Manchester Open Exhibition

Back to Manchester for an open exhibition at the Blank Space gallery. There was quite a crowd. We missed the opening night by a week but it was still a great atmosphere and some brilliant work in a huge variety of mediums.

UK Tour: Harv Harvey Opening Exhbition

Another intensely packed and exciting opening show, this time in a city high in  the mountains of Wales. Listed high up in the arts pages we read in Edinburgh we just had to see hwat all the hype was about. All of young photographer Harv Harvey's work in the exhibition is inspired by 30s/40s Hollywood. He even has his own studio of stars who are featured in the artwork (above: Harv Harvey and guests at the opening (from harvharvey.com) I wish I 'd had the chance to speak to him.

Outside the exhibition.

Ville Kinos by Harv Harvey, this was featured on all the posters outside the gallery and was the picture which first grabbed my attention in the magazine back in Scotland. A fantastic portrait, my favorite of the whole show.

I got a chance to meet Zsa Zsa Den Dooven, one of the Harv Harvey stars.

Overall a great show and some fantastic black and white photography by an up-and-coming artist. If you're interested in the show it will be touring the UK this year. Another successful exhibition visit on my UK tour and a great introduction to Wales.

UK Tour: Text Festival Opening

An intensely packed and exciting opening weekend in Bury and Manchester for the Text Festival - various reviews, images, recordings, videos and reports will appear in the next few weeks but here is a selection of images to start it off here. Many of my photos look like there was no-one there, mainly because I was able to take shots before everyone arrived and once they did I was often too busy to think about the camera. (above: gallery view - foreground: I TELL YOU THE TRUTH by Kate Pickering)
Ron Silliman, Tony Lopez, Me, Barney and Christian Bök .
Sarah Sanders' beautiful performance from the ring balcony

Liz Collini's great wall drawing in the Bury Transport Museum.
As an encore following the Ursonate performances, an amazing world first - Christian Bök and Jaap Blonk improvise. A hugely successful opening and introduction to Manchester.
